This Month’s Pick for Impactful Ink: The Feminine Mystique

This year is the 50th anniversary of The Feminine Mystique. It’s also Women’s History Month. In order to combine those two facts, we’ve selected The Feminine Mystique, the book that is widely regarded as having kicked off second-wave feminism in the United States, as the second book for the Impactful Ink book club. Remember: unlike a regular book club, we’re going to read the whole thing this month and then meet to convene about it on March 31. Happy reading!

  1. Sounds great – I read this for a history class in college and was stunned by its power. For the project, I chose to look at women’s magazines from the time that Friedan was writing and discuss how their ads and features compared to Friedan’s perspective. It was so much fun; my favorite project of college, by far.
