200 Years of Women’s Progress on One Map

The Guardian

International Women’s Day was two weeks ago, but thanks to Co.Exist, I’m just finding about this excellent infographic now. The Guardian has an infographic that allows you track the changing face of women’s rights from 1892 to 2012. It’s rather incomplete – Kenya’s women, for example, only received equal legal rights to men in 2010 – but it’s still inspiring to see how far most countries have come in terms of legal rights. (FYI: the white space in the middle of Africa is not a body of water for my geographically challenged friends, but South Sudan, which probably doesn’t yet have enough data to be included.)
